Financing Agreement Of First Stage Of “Making Sucess Of Advanced Status” Signed Between Morocco And EU, Worth €91 Million

Rabat – The EU-financing agreement for the first phase of “Making Sucess of Advanced Status”, worth € 91 million, was signed on Thursday in Rabat.

The agreement was signed by Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance, Nizar Baraka, the Secretary General of the government, Driss Dahak, the Minister Delegate to the Foreign Minister, Youssef Amrani, and the EU Ambassador to Morocco, Eneko Landaburu.

Baraka stressed the importance of this programme which has a total budget of € 180 million.

He added that the programme aims to support the implementation of the major reforms provided for in the roadmap of the advanced status, the action plan of the neighborhood policy, and the relevant conclusions of the Morocco-EU summit, held on March 7, 2010 in Granadam Spain.

For his part, Landaburu said that “this two billion dirham programme is the largest EU-funded cooperation programme for Morocco.”
