Rabat – The 14th meeting of the Executive Committee of the 5+5 defense opened on Monday in Rabat under Morocco’s chairmanship.
The two day event brings together representatives of armed forces from the ten western Mediterranean countries which, besides Morocco, include Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania, Spain, France , Italy, Portugal and Malta.
The 5+5 defense initiative was developed in 2004 with the aim of fostering multilateral security cooperation in the west of the Mediterranean.
