Crown Princess Mary of Denmark travelled to Morocco on the 3rd and 4th of this month to attend the Youth Innovation Summit innovation and dialogue seminar in Rabat.
The trip began with Mary getting a tour of the Innovation Lab where the 100 students involved in the summit have been working “with innovative solutions in climate, energy, urbanization, agriculture and food,” according to the Danish Royal House.
That evening, the Crown Princess attended a dinner with young Moroccan talents and experts, as well as representatives from the UNDP, DI, AFDB, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the 4th, Crown Princess Mary got in on some exercise, organised by Cross Culture (CCPA) to promote Danish-Arab ties, when she took part in a run with 2,000-3,000 young people from schools and universities which took place in the location of the festival.Embed from Getty Images
Later, a dialogue festival, which Crown Princess Mary opened, for citizens, students, Danish and Moroccan companies, NGOs and Moroccan public authorities took place. The royal gave a speech and received a tour of the festival grounds at Hassan II Park.
During her remarks, Her Royal Highness spoke about “the broad reach of these challenges calls upon the youth to be part of finding the solutions. Youth has a central role to play. You have a duty to challenge the strategies of today’s leaders. And there is no doubt that what you have to sacrifice is needed. “Embed from Getty Images
According to the Royal House, Mary also spoke to “the young talents as well as representatives from Danish companies as well as Moroccan and Danish civil society organisations.”
During her two-day trip, Her Royal Highness was able to also meet with Danish companies, their partners and civil society organisations.
