Pure Wow

It’s only February, but 2019 has been a big year for Camilla Parker Bowles. She’s danced to “Hava Nagila,” dusted off her nonroyal title for a visit to the University of Aberdeen in Scotland and this week she shined bright like a diamond with her fashion choices.
The 71-year-old Duchess of Cornwall debuted a dazzling (and unexpected) look while hosting a party for the British Asian Trust alongside her husband, Prince Charles, earlier this week at Buckingham Palace.
Although Parker Bowles typically gravitates toward neutral shift dresses and gowns, she stepped it up about three notches in a stunning Moroccan caftan for the intimate affair.
Although photos of the evening are sparse, it appears the duchess’s Girl Scout green caftan is emblazoned with sequins, ornamental beading and potentially even lacework. The lattice border of her gown is completely bedazzled and matches her mother-of-pearl Van Cleef & Arpels drop “Alhambra” earrings beautifully. The future queen consort’s dress was expertly tailored to barely graze the floor, so there’s no telling what shoes she paired the intricate gown with.
What we do know is that she and Prince Charles hosted the fete to announce the launch of their $100 million Outcomes Fund for women and girls across South Asia. The party also meant to show appreciation for those involved in furthering the mission, because what’s a better way to thank philanthropists than with a party at the palace?
According to Clarence House, the new fund will focus on “women’s economic empowerment and girls’ educations.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry confirmed their plans to travel to Morocco from Saturday, February 23 to Monday, February 25. Could this be the reason for Camilla’s dazzling choice?
Looks like that Markle Sparkle is rubbing off on the whole family.
