Rabat – The various reforms launched by Morocco are quite “outstanding” considering the difficult economic juncture witnessed in the region, said Australian Senator, Gavin Marshall who heads a parliamentary delegation on a three-day visit to Morocco.

Mr. Marshall told the press that the meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives, Karim Ghellab, informed the members of the delegations of the constitutional, political, social and economic achievements of the Kingdom.

He called on the two countries to boost political and economic relations, and to pay greater attention to the promotion of bilateral trade which he described as “low”. This issue was raised during the recent visit of Australian Foreign Minister to Morocco, and by a Moroccan delegation during a visit to Australia, he said.
The Australian Senator said the visit of the Australian delegation to Morocco will be also an opportunity to be briefed on the latest developments of the autonomy project for the southern provinces, noting that the delegation will meet with several Moroccan officials to better grasp the real dimensions of this issue.
