Al-Qaeda recruitment cell dismantled in Morocco, officials say Moroccan security officials have dismantled an al-Qaeda recruitment cell, the Interior Ministry said Tuesday, dpa reported.

Six suspects were arrested. They were allegedly recruiting young Moroccans in the city of Fez to send them to the terrorist network’s training camps in Algeria.Those arrested are connected to Islamist groups in Algeria, the state news agency MAP reported. One of the suspects was extradited from Algeria in 2005 for his alleged links to terrorist groups.North-western Africa is considered an important area of operations for insurgents linked to the al-Qaeda network. In the last few years, Morocco security officials have managed to bust a number of such cells.
