Yemen’s President in exile, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi has paid a surprise visit to the Saudi monarch in Morocco. King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz is in the North African city of Tangier for a private summer break, Arabi 21 reported on Friday.

In what was described as an “emergency meeting” the two leaders discussed several issues related to Yemen and the Saudi-led coalition against Houthi militias. Both parties stressed that the victories achieved by the Yemen national army and the popular resistance, which is supported by the Saudi-led coalition, would not stop before the liberation of the whole country.

Hadi hailed Saudi Arabia’s role in the conflict. The president stressed that the help from Riyadh is being given in a fraternal spirit in the common interests of both countries. He added that he hopes to see a new stage of “peace, construction and rebuilding of the cities destroyed by the Houthi militias and the forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh.”

A number of senior Saudi officials, including ministers and princes, attended the meeting alongside King Salman.
