The Main Event attracted during its first day 77 players who carried out a buy-in of € 1,650 or 20,000 chips. The Day 1A allowed Bennani Fahd Smires to take a significant lead over his opponents of the day. Indeed, Bennani Fahd Smires none other than the son of Karim Bennani Smires, known for his eighth place finish at the EPT London 2009, will begin the second day with a stack of 143,600 chips more than the triple average which was 48,100 chips. The local player dominated the day during which 32 players were able to qualify for the Day 2.

Behind the chipleader, there are well-known French poker players like Roger Hairabedian and Paul Guichard. But players like Javier Garcirreynaldos, Philippe Garet, Hamamsi El Madani, Philippe Barouk, Warren Knight and Peter Pieri also qualified for the Day 2. Day 1B will accommodate a larger field because players who participated in the WSOP in Las Vegas will be certainly part of. These include among others the possible presence of Bruno Fitoussi, Michael Azoulay, Pierre Drochon, Leo Truche and David Jaoui. The second entry day will be also marked by the re-entry of players who were eliminated on Day 1A.
