Paris – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will organize, as of Friday at the Moulay Rachid complex of Bouznika, its autumn university on the theme “youth and political commitment for an alternative world”, the UN body announced in Paris.
Nearly 200 young people from Morocco and other countries of the region as Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Mauritania and Tunisia, in addition to Spain and Chile, will take part in the event held in partnership with the “Forum des Alternatives Maroc (FMAS)/Action Jeunesse”, and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), in cooperation with the national Moroccan committee for the UNESCO.
The three-day event seeks to reinforce the abilities of young leaders (theoretical knowledge and practical competences) in terms of making pleas and civic commitment.
The main themes that will be debated are: “the challenge of participatory democracy”, “the issues of democratic transition”, and “youth and culture: what role in building a free, citizenship-based culture”.
