Ukraine’s grain exports rose 5.6 percent to 1.14 million metric tons in the first 16 days of April, agricultural researcher UkrAgroConsult said, citing market operators.
That compares with 1.08 million tons in a similar period in March, the researcher, which is based in the capital Kiev, wrote in an e-mailed statement today.
Shipments included 618,000 tons of corn, 363,000 tons of wheat and 133,000 tons of barley, the researcher said. Wheat was shipped to Egypt, Israel and Vietnam, UkrAgroConsult said. Corn went to Egypt, Israel and Iran, and barley was shipped to Syria, Jordan and Morocco.
Another 1.07 million tons of grain, of which 725,000 tons is corn, will be shipped in the near future, the researcher said. This will include 300,000 tons of wheat and 20,000 tons of barley, according to the statement.
