The UAE was ranked first as the best international pavilion among 15 countries participating in the 9th edition of the International Exhibition of Dates in Erfoud, Morocco, under the theme “logistics and development of the dates sector”.
The Wali of the Draa-Tafilalet Region and Governor of the Province of Errachidia, Mohamed Benribag presented the Award Shield to Dr. Abdul Wahab Zayed, Head of the UAE delegation, amid international welcome and appreciation for the UAE efforts in supporting and developing the date palm infrastructure and the production and processing of dates at Arab and international levels.
The event is organised by the International Association of Dates of Morocco Association (ASIDMA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries from 25th to 28th October.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Wahab emphasised that the UAE attaches great importance to the development of the date palm sector at the Arab level and is keen on transferring its expertise in date palm cultivation and date production friendly countries.
Eisa Ali Al Baloushi, Third Representative at the UAE Embassy in Rabat highlighted the economic importance of the event, and said that it is a good opportunity to exchange expertise and make commercial deals between the participating parties from various countries.
