Turkish Discount Retailer BIM To Open 50 Sales Outlets In Morocco

Istanbul – Turkish discount retailer BIM plans to strengthen its presence in Morocco by opening 50 new sales outlets across the Kingdom, as part of its new expansion strategy at the international level, especially in the Arab world, its leaders announced.

Morocco is the only foreign country where BIM has opened mini-markets, currently numbering 76, said its leaders who presented, on Wednesday in Istanbul, the company’s results in 2011, and its prospects for this year.

After Morocco, BIM is expected to enter the Egyptian market as from the first half of 2013 with 10 sales outlets, for an investment of 25 million Turkish Lira (1 TL = $ 1.80), the source said.

The company made in 2011 a net profit of TL 300 million, up 21.7% from 2010. Its sales have risen 24,5% with two billion TL.
