Thirteen Tunisian horses were flown to Morocco today, 17 December, to participate in the Grand Prix of the Arab Maghreb Union (or UMA), which will be held in the hippodrome of Anfa, Casablanca, on Sunday 18 December.

Both Arab and English purebred horses will be participating in the race’s second edition, which is organized by the Horse Racing Society (or SCH).

The annual racing program, which promotes the training of purebred horses, held its first edition in Tripoli in 2009, and the second edition was first scheduled to take place in Alger but was cancelled. Next year’s edition is planned to be in Tunis, in Ksar Essaid.

Invited by the Royal Society of Horsemanship, the Tunisian team travelling to Morocco is comprised of officials, owners, trainers and jockeys.
