The Tomato Joint Committee of Spain, France, and Italy is meeting today in Paris to discuss the market situation and the impact of the EU agreement with Morocco. They will also address the application of tomatoes’ entry price in the EU.

Experts and representatives of the three countries’ organizations will analyse the current campaign’s trend, take stock of what happened in 2011 and set out the prospects they suggest.

This Joint Committee will consider the effects generated in the tomato sector by the Association Agreement between the European Union and Morocco. Moreover, according to the agenda set, they will discuss the conditions of production in third countries regarding phytosanitary products, agro-environmental and social conditions and the requirements for the importation of these products in the EU. They will also address the application oftomatoes’ entry price in European Countries.
