Cairo – Japan plans to make of Morocco and Egypt two key hubs for its exports to the EU and Africa, Spokesman for the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Masaru Sato said on Friday.
Sato said in a statement that Japan’s Foreign Minister discussed with Egyptian officials, during a recent visit to Cairo, the possibility of relocating Japanese factories to Morocco and Egypt with the aim of boosting Japanese exports and reinforcing its competitiveness.
The Spokesman for the Japanese Foreign Ministry highlighted Egypt’s potentials adding that Japanese enterprises are willing to invest in Egypt once stability is restored.
Sato noted that Japan’s Foreign Minister will discuss the same issues relating to investment with Moroccan officials during his visit to Rabat, which falls within the framework of a regional tour that took hilm to India, Ramallah, Israel and Jordan.
