Time out in a moonlit spa

Find out to admire the lighting at the new Noora Spa at the Marrakesh Hua Hin Resort

The newly opened Marrakesh Hua Hin Resort and Spa in Prachuap Khiri Khan province has called its spa Noora, the Arabic word for illumination. Step through the door and it’s immediately evident why: the spa’s black walls are illuminated by lighting decorations in colours that awaken all the senses. The enchanting fragrances lingering in the air hint at the organic products that are used to revitalise the body, mind and soul.

Noora Spa has seven treatment rooms of which are four are VIP salons complete with Jacuzzi and a steam room. The lighting ambience is fascinating: lie down in the Jacuzzi, look up at the well designed dome and you’ll believe you are seeing a moonlit sky surrounded by sparkling stars.

Thidarat Tao-ak, spa manager says the creation aims to create a memorable experience for all of its customers, as it offers a delightful feeling of peace and tranquillity. “Art is the defining aspect of the architecture, which has been designed to create a light mood,” she says.

As part of the Morocco heritage, the spa’s highlights are two signature massages. One uses a warm candle while the other is a package that includes an organic oil scalp treatment, red wine body pampering, a re-energising massage and a facial treatment.

The 90-minute “El Radiant” massage is interesting and unique. Based on an ancient Indian treatment, it combines a healing candle infused with beautiful fragrances and natural powdered gold. The massage technique is traditional but once finished, the skin feels soft, smooth, and really glows thanks to the gold.

The other signature spa menu is called “Morocco Charming Secret” and is ideal for those who can spare three and a half hours. It features a 30-minute hair treatment mask and red clay body wrap (40 minutes) followed by red wine bath (20 minutes) followed by an hour-long massage of your choice and a 60-minute facial, leaving your skin refreshed and radiant.

Apart from these two luxurious therapies, the spa offers a wide variety of treatments and carefully selected organic products.

For those wanting to get away from the crowds, Marrakesh Hua-Hin resort and spa is a perfect retreat for all seasons. It officially opens next month.
