The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon supports the proposed constitutional referendum set forth by Moroccan King Mohammed VI and the peaceful political reform process taking place in the North African country, according to an article in yesterday’s Winnepeg Free Press.

“The Secretary-General hopes the reform process will concretely respond to the legitimate aspirations of the people of Morocco,” said a U.N. spokesperson in a statement Wednesday.

The constitutional referendum will be set to a vote on July 1st.
