A second ship bound for Tangier (Morocco) left today from the Port of Huelva with a new group of 1,200 Moroccan temporary workers with contracts of origin who remained in the province of Huelva, despite the end of the agricultural season, due to the closure of borders due to Covid-19.

Last Saturday the first ferry set sail, after a month of negotiations between the Spanish and Alawite authorities, which came to fruition at the beginning of last week, making this return possible, which is done following security protocols and after the women have been subjected to a PCR test and they have given negative.

The consultants of integration of the Prelsi (Interfresa’s Ethical, Labor, Social and Equality Responsibility Plan) have once again shown their effectiveness and know-how, facing a new challenge by having to combine attention to the temporary workers who passed their tests detection of Covid-19 in health centers with the shipment of the second ship bound for Morocco.

Throughout the day, the Interfresa team and the member agricultural organizations -Freshuelva, Asaja-Huelva and Agro-Food Cooperatives-, on which the operation falls, in addition to the Citrus Growers Association, which despite not being integrated in Interfresa Yes, it makes contracts at source and therefore joins it, they have worked in coordination with the Red Cross and the State Security Forces and the members of the Port of Huelva so that the 1,200 workers who today had to leave from the Port de Huelva could do it without any stumbling block.

This has allowed the departure of a new ship, with the hubbub of Moroccan women who, just like on Saturday, have celebrated their departure with chants.

The coordination between all public and private institutions and the experience of the first day, which was a milestone for agrarian organizations, administrations and the Port of Huelva, has allowed the embarkation of this second ferry to be much more agile and effective.

From Interfresa, the good progress of the operation has been celebrated and the work of the technicians of each organization and of the consultants of integration of the Prelsi have stood out, who, in addition to their contribution to the shipment, have accompanied the workers to carry out the tests of detection of Covid-19 that has been developing since last Wednesday in various health centers in the province of Huelva.

The next ship is expected to set sail next Wednesday, with three more remaining, as a total of six trips are planned.
