FOR A CAUSE: Another member of the tight-knit Missoni clan is involved in a charity project.Teresa Maccapani Missoni’s customized Fiat 500 Pop was sold for 45,000 Swiss francs, or $49,170 at current exchange, at the Country Club Bellevue in Geneva on Feb. 2. The car was auctioned to benefit the Womanity Foundation, supporting women in depressed areas across Afghanistan, Morocco, Palestine, Brazil and India. Maccapani Missoni, daughter of Angela Missoni, embellished the car with colorful bodywork decorated with an orchid pattern. The interiors were upholstered with a Missoni Home fuchsia and turquoise corduroy, and included synthetic grass car mats and a vase with Vanda orchids.
Among the other items sold at the auction, held during the fourth Smiling Children Foundation gala, were two vintage Italian icons — a Fiat 500 from the Sixties and a Vespa 50 from the Seventies, newly customized by French interior designer Jacques Garcia and socialiteTatiana Santo Domingo, respectively.
