Sociéte d’Aménagement et de Promotion de la Station de Taghazout (SAPST), who are responsible for the stunning Taghazout Bay Resort in Morocco, have signed a golf management agreement with Braemar Golf (Maroc).
Taghazout Bay, perhaps the most anticipated of Morocco’s developing golf assets, is situated on the outskirts of Agadir, sitting on the spectacular bluffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoying a special climate and exceptional natural wealth, Taghazout Bay is based on a “new generation” resort concept, offering a wide range of activities throughout the year.

The golf course is currently under construction, and is being designed by Kyle Phillips, one of the hottest golf course architects working today. He is known for a growing portfolio of renownded masterpieces such as Kingsbarns and Dundonald in Scotland, Verdura in Sicily and the highly rated Yas Links in Abu Dhabi. The clubhouse fits perfectly into the landscape and enjoys an unobstructed view of the 18th green and over the Atlantic coast in the background.”

Andrew Glen, Managing Director of Braemar Golf (Maroc) stated: “We are very proud to have won this competition for the selection of the golf management partner. We are excited by the opportunity to participate in a project of this quality, both for its amazing golf course and setting as well as the wider planned resort. The golf course is located on a site of exceptional beauty and all the holes have the blue expanse of the Atlantic Ocean as their backdrop. Holes such as 7, 17 and 18 will remain engraved in the memory of all golfers when they discover this majestic course and resort.”

Laila Bensouda, Partnerships & Development Manager for SAPST commented “This is an important appointment for what is Morocco’s most anticipated tourism development project for many years and we are delighted to be working with Braemar Golf Maroc. Over the past few years, they have committed to developing a permanent base and expertise in Morocco. We are confident this commitment to Morocco and the Moroccan golf industry, coupled with their international approach, will prove a mutually beneficial and long term relationship.”

Braemar Golf (Maroc) commence work in June 2013, to assist the developer in growing in the golf course and assisting with the infrastructure. After a pre-opening period to set up the operations and promote Tagazout Bay, it is expected to open to the public in the 3rd Quarter of 2014.
