Washington -The success of political reforms initiated by HM King Mohammed VI distinguish Morocco from several countries in the Middle-East North Africa region (MENA), which is witnessing a popular turmoil, wrote, on Friday, the US magazine World Politics Review.
“So far, King Mohammed of Morocco seems to be the Arab leader who has most successfully navigated the uprisings,” the Magazine noted in an editorial published on its website, adding that “Moroccans overwhelmingly approved” the referendum on the new Constitution last July.
Under this constitution, the prime minister, whose powers were significantly consolidated, “will be chosen by the party winning the largest number of seats in a democratically elected parliament,” the US magazine said.
The author of the article also highlighted the “centuries-old legitimacy” of the Moroccan monarchy, which is the guarantor of the Kingdom’s political stability.
