SPAIN’S Prime Minister is set to travel to Morocco tomorrow (Monday) where he is due to announce the country’s signing of a UN global migration deal.

Pedro Sanchez is set to make the announcement on the UN’s Global Compact on Migration in Marrakesh.

The deal aims to provide countries with a framework through which the movement of people can be managed.

Government sources said Spain was among the best able to deal with migration. The country has become the main entry point into Europe for migrants travelling from North Africa, with tens of thousands having come to Spain so far this year.

Sanchez’s forthcoming announcement will come after the US President Donald Trump ruled out signing up to the UN deal.

Opposition parties in France, Belgium and Canada have also criticised their governments for agreeing to the pact.
