Rabat – Spanish enterprises are increasingly interested in investing in the remarkable development taking place in Morocco, Spanish Foreign Minister José-Manuel Garcia-Margallo said.
Morocco is a “key partner for Spain”, Garcia-Margallo said in an interview published on Wednesday by the French speaking daily “Le Matin du Sahara et du Maghreb”.
The Spanish official pointed to the complementarity of the economies of the two countries, noting that Spain’s exports to Morocco rose by 20% during the first three months of 2012.
Garcia-Margallo, who will start a working visit to Morocco on Wednesday, highlighted the importance of the reforms undertaken under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI. Such initiatives will strengthen the country’s economy, he said.
“Our strategic interest is to strengthen stability and development in Morocco and the Maghreb region,” said the Spanish Minister.
