Sound Energy said it had submitted a development application to Morocco’s energy ministry relating to the Tendrara gas discovery in the north African nation. The concession award, expected later this year, would be a significant step to both de-risk the development and commercialise the gas discovery, chief executive James Parsons said.
Sound Energy continued to advance discussions in relation to a gas sales agreement, he added. Once on-stream, the existing discovery was expected to produce some 60 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas, and be monetised through a 120km pipeline to the Gazoduc Maghreb Europe pipeline.
