Sound Energy said it had brought gas to surface during testing of a new well in Morocco.

Sound Energy had previously announced a discovery and planned simulation test at the TE-10 well.

‘The company is delighted to report that it has secured hydrocarbon gas to surface from within the primary shallow zone, a section of which was perforated from 1932 to 1938 metres,’ Sound Energy said.

‘This has been achieved without stimulation or artificial lift.’

The next step in the operation would be to mechanically stimulate the most prospective zones, in order to seek to establish potentially commercial flow rates of gas.
