According to information made available on Friday, December 2, 2011, the new series of “Skins” will feature the exotic landscape of Morocco. The cast of “Skins” series five will reprise their roles for the upcoming series.

Digital Spy reported that the series opener will begin with “a hedonistic fortnight before the college term starts again” that “turns into a living hell.” The upcoming series promises to be filled with the over-the-top drama and teen angst that has resonated with viewers since the show’s inception.

The long-awaited sixth series of “Skins” doesn’t begin filming until Summer 2012, so dedicated fans will have to wait quite awhile longer before catching up with their favorite characters. Fans should be used to waiting though. The highly anticipated big screen epic “Skins: The Movie” was expected to have a Summer 2011 release date, but it was unceremoniously postponed until further notice.

The popular original E4 television series is a smash hit in the United Kingdom although its American MTV “Skins” clone failed miserably and was canceled amid pressure from the Parents Television Council after just one controversial season. The American version lost viewers and sponsors week after week until it ran out its full ten week season.
