Moroccan airline Royal Air Maroc is to start a new route between Manchester and Casablanca for the summer 2017 season.

The carrier will begin Manchester-Casablanca flights three times per week from March 28, 2017, according to aviation industry website Airline Route.

The service, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. It will depart Manchester at 17.00 for arrival into Casablanca at 20.20. The inbound flight will leave Casablanca at 12.30 and arrive in Manchester at 16.00.

Royal Air Maroc already flies from both Heathrow and Gatwick to Casablanca.

The new UK route is among four new services being planned by Royal Air Maroc from late March.

The airline also plans to fly between Casablanca and Porto in Portugal, Bilbao in Spain and the southern Italian city of Naples. All of these routes will also operate three times per week.
