Royal Air Maroc joined the oneworld alliance as of April 2020, and it’s now possible to redeem AAdvantage miles on Royal Air Maroc directly through aa.com. This is also exciting because it means that awards on all oneworld airlines can now be searched and booked through aa.com.In this post:
American adds online Royal Air Maroc awards
American Airlines’ website is now showing Royal Air Maroc award availability for all routes, which is a great development, since previously finding Royal Air Maroc awards online was a challenge (Royal Air Maroc’s website displayed them, but the user experience wasn’t great).
Unfortunately American recently made their award search tool worse, but even so, this is the best option for searching Royal Air Maroc awards online (which could also be useful for searching space if you’re trying to redeem Etihad Guest miles on Royal Air Maroc).
As a reminder, Royal Air Maroc ordinarily flies to five destinations in North America, all of which they fly to out of Casablanca. They fly to:
- Boston
- Miami
- Montreal
- New York JFK
- Washington Dulles

Royal Air Maroc award pricing
While Morocco is in Africa, just a few weeks ago American AAdvantage changed Morocco from Africa to Europe for the purposes of award pricing. This is great news, especially for those originating in the US.
This means that from the US you can expect to pay the following number of miles for travel on Royal Air Maroc to Morocco or Europe:
- 30,000 AAdvantage miles one-way in economy
- 57,500 AAdvantage miles one-way in business class
This is also a great opportunity for getting all over Europe, given that Royal Air Maroc has “proper” business class seats on flights to Europe, rather than the economy seats with blocked middles that you’ll find on many European airlines.

Bottom line
It’s awesome that American now lets you redeem miles online for travel on Royal Air Maroc, meaning that all oneworld partners can now be booked through aa.com.
Being able to redeem miles on Royal Air Maroc across the Atlantic, either to Morocco or Europe, is a fantastic option.
