The president of the Morocco Sahara association in Australia says clean energy is the way forward especially solar and wind.
‘’The problem is global warming is already here. Europe is spending billions on using alternative power sources and its working for them’’ Dr Driss Berrada said on the sidelines of the CWA International day.
The Maths and Physics teacher and doctor first came to Australia to look at solar power and says Australia has come a long way since he first arrived 16 years ago.
He says Morocco looks at this area intently.
A packed crowd came to see him at the CWA hall to talk about the country where he was born, alongside him his wife.
‘’Morocco has been in news for many years who could forget the movie Casablanca, the road to Morocco movie with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope caused a few laughs’’ he said.
The good doctor smiled as he talked about the song Marrakesh Express a big hit by Crosby Still Nash and Young in the 70’s named after a train in the former Moroccan capital ‘’The funny thing is that the express was actually extremely slow’’
