Rabat – Money sent home by Moroccans living abroad stood at 22.41 billion dirhams in May, that is a 2% rise compared to the same period last year (21.97 billion dirhams), the exchange rate monitoring body, Office des Changes, said.
The remittances increased by 26.1% compared to April, the Office said.
The same source said that travel receipts stood by the end of May at 20.86 billion dirhams, that is a year-on-year decrease from 20.86 billion dirhams.
During the same period, travel expenses rose 5.4% compared to the same period last year to reach 4.35 billion dirhams.
