Rabat – Moroccan Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani and French peer Alain Juppé called, Friday in Rabat, for a triangular cooperation between Morocco-France-Africa through the development of action programs in Africa.

“Morocco, which has good relations with the African continent, possesses an experience that enables it to elaborate bilateral programs in Africa,” El Otmani said.

On the issue of immigration, he said that Morocco, which has become a host country for thousands of illegal immigrants, advocates developing countries of origin instead of the security approach.

Juppé said France gets 190,000 new legal immigrants yearly, and, due to the economic slowdown and the increasing rate of unemployment, the French economy finds it difficult to integrate those new immigrants in the job market, a fact that urges a better organization of the immigration flow.

As for pursuing studies in France, Juppé said that France is the third country in the world to receive students following the US and the UK, adding that Moroccan students represent the majority with 30,000 students.
