The Guardia Civil, working with the Royal Moroccan Gendarmerie, has arrested three suspected drug traffickers on the run from Spanish justice after fleeing the scene of a gunfight in which a gang member was killed in Guadassuar, Valencia in 2010. Three others were injured in the crossfire.

Police working within the framework of Operation Desired have now apprehended the alleged leader of the trafficking ring that police believe supplied hashish across Europe, particularly to Italy where the gang leader is wanted for questioning.

Operation Desired was carried out successfully thanks to a collaboration and exchange of information between the Guardia Civil and the Moroccan Royal Gendarmerie.
