August 2 – The Project Cargo Network (PCN) has added Multi Trans Alliance (MTA) as a second representative in Morocco, writes Adam Flensborg Safikhany.

The company was formed in 2003 and is based in Casablanca. It is keen to capitalise on Morocco’s desire to build a green energy sector by 2020.

In July this year, Clean Technica reported that in addition to investing in renewable energy projects and infrastructure on both the small and large scale, Morocco is marshalling its own resources while working internationally with other governments, development organisations, and foreign companies in establishing not only the infrastructure, but also the critical legal framework, educational and vocational training capacity, to build a green energy economic sector by 2020.

MTA recently handled a 1,020 tonne barge for the Mershika project. In describing the project, general manager, Hicham Bennani said that the barge, which contained a number of items including a crane and boat, was towed from Marseille, France to Nador, Morocco, and delayed on route by violent winds that forced the barge to stay off the coast of Nador for several days before docking.
