Student Paige Collins will be leaving her home comforts behind to work with deprived children and orphans in Morocco.
Paige, 17, will spend a week in Marrakesh next month, working at baby and child orphanages and teaching children English and sports.
She is one of around 14 students at Cambridge Regional College going on the trip.
Paige, who lives in Newtown Road, Haddenham, has raised more than £300 to donate to the orphanages.
She said: “I’m excited for the trip but I’m nervous too. I know it’s going to be very sad and tough, especially at the orphanages. We just take so much for granted here.
“We’re going to be helping out in the orphanages, teaching the children and playing with them.
“I’ve also managed to raise around £320 through sponsorship to donate to the orphanages. I took part in a sponsored 10-hour gym-athon recently to help raise some of the money.”
Paige is studying for a national diploma in sports studies.
