Interior Minister Taieb Cherqaoui said on Friday night that 98% of voters approved the new draft constitution.

(MAP) – Only 1.51% voted against the proposed constitution, and these results concern 94% of the polling stations, Cherqaoui told a press briefing.

The number of voters amounted to 9,228,020, that is a 72.6% turnout, while the null and void represented 76,917 (0.83%), added Minister.

The number of recorded votes has reached 9,151,103, the minister said, adding that these are partial results as the Constitutional Council is the only authority to announce the final official results of the constitutional referendum.
