A HILLEDSEN girl is on the run to raise money to help children in an orphanage in Morocco.

Rose Le Geyt, aged 17, is raising money to go to Morocco and take equipment the children need.

Her mum Louise, said: “Although people think of Morocco as a tourist destination, there are parts of it that are very, very poor.”

Rose who attended Marsh Gibbon Primary School and is now studying for A-levels at Waddesdon School, will be travelling to Morocco in October with Original Volunteers.

She already has the cost of the flights, but she wants to raise sponsorship towards materials to take for the orphans, such as footballs, pens, pencils and paper.

With the help of the Revival Gym at Buckingham’s Best Western Hotel on Buckingham’s ring road, Rose is running on a treadmill the distance from Buckingham to the Olympic stadium in London – 70.9 miles. So far, she’s covered 30 miles.

Anyone wishing to sponsor Rose should call Hannah Richardson at the Advertiser on 01280 827973.
