RABAT The Sultanate and Morocco signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the crafts industries field within the framework of bilateral cooperation on Friday.
Her Excellency Sheikha Aisha Bint Khalfan Al Siabiyah, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Craft Industries (Paci), signed the MoU on behalf of Oman. Anis Pro, Secretary of State to the Minister of Tourism and Traditional Industry, signed on behalf of Morocco.
Aisha in a statement said that the memo contains important points in the field of handicrafts and exchange of experiences between the two sides in addition to exhibitions and marketing of craft products between the two countries.
She added that the MoU will support the training sector in the Sultanate in the field of craft industries in addition to the marketing of products for the advancement of this sector.
Anis Pro said that the axis of such a memo addressed directly the work on the continuity of these crafts and their development in addition to the training between the two countries and exchanging experiences in the field of handicrafts.
Earlier, Aisha Al Siabiyah visited the Moroccan Traditional Industries’ complex. She and her accompanying delegation toured the different parts of the complex and were briefed on the 70 training centres which have 700 craftsmen practising their crafts.
