Muscat – After two days of political consultations, Morocco and the Sultanate of Oman signed, Monday in Muscat, a statement mirroring excellent bilateral ties and similarity of viewpoints on regional and international issues.
In this regard, Minister delegate for foreign affairs Youssef Amrani met the same day with Oman’s foreign minister Youssef Ben Alaoui.
The two officials hailed the deep bilateral bonds and surveyed several issues of shared interest.
The two parties decided to boost economic cooperation through the creation of a joint company for investment promotion.
The first session of political consultations enabled the two parties to discuss matters related to the Middle East, the Syrian crisis and Morocco’s actions within the UNSC.
On the Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), Oman hoped to see the emergence of a new Maghreb order based on complementarity, solidarity, development and integration.
It also underlined its appreciation for Morocco’s leadership to reach a political solution to the Sahara issue.
