Anitox Corporation, a world-leader in the development, manufacture and marketing of feed/food safety and milling efficiency solutions, has appointed New Concept Nutrition to distribute its comprehensive range of products in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.

New Concept Nutrition, a consulting and feed additives company based in Meknes, Morocco, was formed in March 2011 as a joint venture between Dr. A. Ait Boulahsen, PhD, a well-established consultant in the feed and poultry industries, and AgroVet Alliance, a Dubai-based distributor with more than 10 years experience in these sectors. New Concept Nutrition is managed by Dr. Boulahsen, a former Professor of Poultry Science at the Moroccan National College of Agriculture.

The agreement will further enhance Anitox’s ability to distribute its world-class range of feed safety and milling efficiency solutions in North Africa, whilst providing New Concept Nutrition’s customers in these countries with access to Anitox products, technologies, technical expertise and engineering support. Anitox, which has experienced a 16% rise in demand for its products and services during 2012, has a comprehensive distribution network and its products are used throughout the world. The company’s Maxi-Mil®, milling efficiency programme and Termin-8® pathogen control system, two key products in the new agreement with New Concept Nutrition, are now used in 61 countries, at a total of more than 340 sites to treat over 34 million tonnes of feed/feed materials annually.

Announcing the agreement, Roger Mann, Regional Director for Anitox in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, stated:

“We are delighted to be working with New Concept Nutrition and regard this as a very mutually beneficial partnership between the two companies.

“Food manufacturers and retailers throughout the world are setting increasingly high standards of safety and hygiene, so it is vital that feed manufacturers and livestock producers are able to meet their requirements. Anitox pioneered the development and manufacture of anti-microbial products to improve the safety of raw materials, feed and foodstuffs for human consumption. Our products now help customers all over the world to meet their legal and consumer requirements, as well as reducing production costs and improving operational operating efficiency.”

Ait Boulahsen, added: “We have been impressed by Anitox’s track record in this specialist area and its commitment to the feed manufacturing and livestock production sectors. The company is expanding its range with exciting, innovative new products and investing significant resources in Research & Development and engineering solutions which will help our customers to meet consumer demand and comply with future legislation.

“Anitox products and services have excellent potential in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, where increasing food safety legislation makes it essential for livestock producers to operate to higher standards, while rising raw material costs require feed mills to operate more efficiently in order to supply quality finished feed at affordable, sustainable prices.

“Anitox Maxi-Mil® milling efficiency technology provides feed manufacturers with a key advantage over their competitors. Mills have differing requirements, but all can benefit in major areas of production, whether through improvements in moisture retention in finished feeds, reduced shrink/process losses or higher product quality as a result of improved pellet durability, reduced ‘fines’ and enhanced digestibility. They will also see advantages in terms of lower levels of wear in mill equipment, greater throughput, reduced power consumption, lower carbon footprint and optimum profitability.

“Feed manufacturers are also looking to produce more consistent, higher quality products and a key part of that is to achieve consistent moisture content. Moisture loss is inevitable during manufacture and has a direct impact on feed quality, production and profitability. This is particularly important in very hot climates such as in North Africa.

“Termin-8® will be another key product for us. It provides effective control of gram-negative bacteria such as Salmonella and E.coli, gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, together with spore-forming bacteria such as Clostridium in feed and raw materials. It also protects feed against recontamination in the mill, during transport and on the farm for up to 21 days, which has been verified by The United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). We also offer other Anitox products, including Blue Royale® water treatment and Sorb-It® toxin binder.”

With 35 years experience in antimicrobial and mould-control technology in livestock feeds and raw materials Anitox is at the forefront of the industry in terms of supplying products which provide safe feed to protect the health of livestock and consumers. ISO 9001:12000 and GMP+ Certified, the company has a strong Research & Development programme and a pipeline of new products which are at the cutting-edge of technology. These will further increase Anitox’s business in existing markets and take it into new areas, helping livestock producers, feed manufacturers and food producers to meet future demands and challenges.
