(UKPA) – Expedition Impossible star Dave Salmoni has said his new TV show brings out the best in people.
The Canadian-born daredevil hosts the new extreme reality show on Watch, in which he leads 13 teams of three ordinary people with a taste for adventure, in a race across Morocco in a bid to win 150,000 dollars and a new off-road car.
Dave said: “Reality television often makes you think we want to see the worst in people.
“Most of the stories in reality television seem to be people screaming and yelling at each other. The worst of humanity from what I can see. And Expedition Impossible really does show you the best. People competing but doing it in a way that everyone’s sharing this amazing experience together. Some of the most uplifting stories you will ever see will be on this show.
“We purposefully chose the prize to be very minimal because we wanted people who really wanted to have an adventure. Most of the people wanted to test themselves These people actually went though this.
“There’s somebody that everybody will be able to relate to, people form all walks of life. Ex-pro athletes, grandfathers competing with their granddaughters, a blind man, an ex-army guy.
“When they’re out there in the middle of nowhere against some of the most difficult conditions you’ve ever seen in your life there’s times when you see competing teams actually pulling together and trying to help each other out, which I was shocked by.”
And even adventurer and former animal trainer Dave admits the challenge was tough.
“We take them up mountains, down riverines, we chuck ’em out of planes, propel them down rocks, it really is a really epic adventure.”
::Expedition Impossible airs on Tuesday August 14 at 10pm on Watch.
