Tehran – The heads of state and government of the Movement “welcomed the UN-sponsored negotiation process and the parties’ commitment to continue to show political will and work in an atmosphere propitious for dialogue in order to enter into a more intensive and substantive phase of negotiations,” the summit final statement said.

The summit added that the purpose is also to ensure the implementation of the latest seven UN Security Council resolutions on the Sahara, which stressed that the Moroccan autonomy initiative is serious and credible.

The resolutions call on the parties to enter into a more intensive and substantive phase of negotiations, and highlight the efforts made by Morocco since 2006 towards finding a final political solution to this conflict.

The summit also commended all the parties’ commitment to continue negotiations.
