Mustapha Bakkoury New Secretary General Of Authenticity And Modernity Party

Bouznika – Mustapha Bakkoury was elected, on Sunday, Secreatry General of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM).

Bakkoury succeeds to Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah after receiving 352 votes while his contender Samir Goudar got 29 votes.

Biadillah announced, on Friday, at the opening of PAM’s Congress in Bouznika (near Rabat) his intention not to run for a second term as Secretary General.

Born in Mohammed in 1964, Bakkoury is a civil engineer and a holder of a graduate degree in banking and finance.

From 1995 to 1998, he served as finance director at the national company for communal development (SONADAC), before being appointed as senior official at the Moroccan bank for trade and industry (BMCI), a post he assumed until 2001.

He served from 2001 to 2009 as Director General of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG).

In 2009, he was appointed Head of the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN).

Earlier in the day, PAM’s National Council unanimously elected Hakim Benchemmach as the Council’s President.
