Morocco’s state-owned energy provider Office National de l’ Electricite (ONE) has increased the capacity of its Noor-Argana solar project from 125 MW to 200 MW, according to local newspaper Le Matin. The company will invest €250 million in the project. The Rfp for the construction of the plant will be issued by the end of 2016.

Furthermore, the article reports that ONE has decided to increase the capacity of its 2020 program for middle-sized PV projects (with a power of 10 MW to 30 MW) from 400 MW to 500 MW. ONE is currently developing the Noor-Tafilalet solar project in the regions of Erfoud, Zagora and Missour. The project consists of three 25 MW PV plants that are expected to come online in early 2017.

The projects, which are also part of the 2020 program for middle-sized PV projects, will receive financial support from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Germany’s state-owned bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). © PHOTON
