Morocco’s Phosphate Exports Jump 29% Up To End February

Rabat – Morocco’s phosphate exports rose 29% up to late February, yielding more than 2.14 billion dirhams as against 1.66 billion dirhams in the same month a year ago, the exchange rate monitoring body, Office des Changes, said.

Exports of phosphate by-products declined by 5.9% (4.50 billion dirhams against 4.78 billion dirhams in February 2011), it said.

The office reported that energy products imports rose 28.5%, standing at 15.48 billion dirhams from 12.05 billion dirhams in February last year.
