Moroccan King Mohammed VI on Thursday voiced Morocco’s deep interest in pushing forward “close and fruitful cooperation” with the European Union in various domains.
The Moroccan king said in a cable of congratulations to Ursula von der Leyen on her victory of election as the new president of the European Commission that Morocco seeks opportunities to upgrade relations of the peoples of both sides.
The king expressed relief over the new and powerful mechanism that marks the distinguished relations between Morocco and EU.
He said that these excellent relations were embodied in the establishment of a strategic Euro-Mediterranean partnership.
