The African Union has awarded Morocco two awards, in recognition of its efforts in the fight against climate change and the transformation of farming in Africa.
Morocco grabbed the climate change best performance award, and the 2020 best performance award for the implementation of the 2014 Malabo Declaration on the transformation of African agriculture.
The prizes were awarded to Morocco Monday on the occasion of the 33rd AU Summit held in the Ethiopian capital, in recognition of its efforts to upgrade the development of the continent.
The steps taken by Morocco, part of a visionary strategy for the development of renewable energies, place the Kingdom at the forefront of the fight against climate change in Africa.
Today, the kingdom’s expertise is sought everywhere on the continent, from the Sahel region to the island states, which already benefit from the know-how developed by Morocco in this area, intrinsically linked to the future of Africa.
In the field of agriculture, the Green Morocco Plan was cited during the summit as a model that many African countries wish to draw inspiration from in their efforts to meet the expectations of their populations in terms of sustainable development.
