Morocco’s efforts for a sustainable future for the Western Sahara

Leadership Council for Human Rights

 

The Leadership Council for Human Rights congratulate the King of Morocco for the efforts to establish a regional economic system that would benefit and involve the population of Western Sahara through their representative bodies and civil society.

During the last trip led by the President and Founder of the LCHR to the region of Western Sahara (southern Provinces of Morocco),  these provinces have witnessed remarkable economic and social development. In fact, in 2006, this region was among the top-ranking Moroccan regions in the Human development index of UNDP. 

The LCHR also congratulate the King of Morocco for urging the Economic, Social & Environmental Council (CESE) to architecture an integrated regional development plan that can lead to promoting a regional economic system which focuses on youth, job creation, growth and wealth generating.

The LCHR encourages US companies to invest in the Southern Provinces of Morocco in order to help in the political and economic  stability of North Africa. German, Italian and French companies are already present in the region and are taking advantage of opportunities offered by this successful market.
