Rabat – Advisor to the President of the Republic of Guinea, François Lounceny Fall, said on Wednesday that Morocco’s autonomy proposal for its southern provinces, the Sahara, represents a “good basis” for discussions towards an acceptable solution to the Sahara issue.
“We think that Morocco’s latest proposals represent a good basis for discussions to find a political and acceptable solution to the Shara issue,” Fall told the press following talks with Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani.
The Guinean official, bearer of a message from Guinea’s President Alpha Condé to HM King Mohammed VI, deplored that Morocco is not in the African Union. “As is the case with several other African countries, we deem Morocco’s absence from the African union as a grave anomaly.”
He also highlighted Morocco’s positive role in defending the African unity, adding that other friendly African countries will endeavour so that Morocco returns to the African Union.
