Morocco’s Central Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ICPC) is preparing a document on “priority” proposals to strengthen the fight against corruption in the Kingdom, the President of the agency, Abdeslam Aboudrar, said.

The proposals concern, inter alia, “the need for effective law enforcement”, which should result in “prosecutions and sanctions against those involved in corruption,” Aboudrar said in an interview with the daily “Le Soir Echos” published on Monday.

He called for creating chambers specialized in corruption, saying he hopes that a specialized justice will be set up to end impunity which is one of the causes of the phenomenon. Aboudrar emphasized the need to train judges in order to carry out this mission and enhance the way financial crimes are handled
