TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Members of the House of Representatives (DPR) have denied that an official trip to Morocco was initiated by the DPR.
Defense and Foreign Commission deputy chief Tubagus Hasanuddin said legislators were invited by the Foreign Ministry to attend a forum on development in the Middle East and North Africa following the Arab Spring.
The visit, he added, also focused on strategic issues and economic possibilities in the region.
“The commission serves as a resource,” added Hasanuddin.
He said that 22 Indonesian representatives, including ambassadors in the Middle East and North Africa, participated in the forum. The forum took place from November 1 – 6.
